8 September: The Basics of 3D Sketching with Dr Kanvar Nayer

In this session, participants will learn how to transform simple 2D sketches into convincing 3D concept drawings using easy-to-learn sketching and marker rendering techniques. They will explore how line weight, perspective, light, shadow, and colour can be used to create depth, form, and visual impact. Through guided demonstrations and hands-on exercises, participants will build confidence in communicating ideas quickly and effectively on paper. No advanced drawing experience is required — just a willingness to sketch, experiment, and have fun.

About your facilitator: Dr. Kanvar Nayer is an industrial designer, educator, and passionate sketcher. He was head of Art, Design & Architecture at Monash College in Melbourne and still enjoys helping others communicate ideas through simple, effective sketching techniques. A Copic Australia and SketchTiles ambassador, Kanvar loves using traditional pens and markers to bring concepts to life. He believes sketching is one of the fastest and most enjoyable ways to explore, develop, and share ideas.
