Superpartner gallery is pleased to present a special one-off screening of the acclaimed feature length documentary film "Ayukawa: The Weight of a Life", by renowned New Zealand artist and filmmakers Jim Speers and Tu Neill. A conversation and Q&A with Co-Director Jim Speers will take place following the film.
"Ayukawa" will screen at Silky Otter Cinemas in Frankton at 7pm, Saturday July 27.

Filmed over four years, Ayukawa documents a small Japanese village with a deep whaling history as it navigates shifting economic, social and political realities, alongside the long process of rebuilding after the devastating 2011 earthquake and tsunami. Through intimate personal interviews and striking cinematography, the film offers a nuanced study of people and traditions grappling to adjust in changing times.
