Te Atamira, Tāhuna Queenstown’s arts and cultural centre, is set to showcase Lyrics and Lines, an exciting exhibition and dynamic performance series. Opening on Saturday, 28 September 2024, the series dives into the concept of creative mark- making, inviting the public to reflect on the patterns that shape both art and life.
The exhibition, supported by The Arts Foundation’s Queenstown donors, features renowned contemporary artists from Australasia, including John Reynolds, Ani O'Neill, Gordon Walters, Veronica Herber, Julian Hooper, and Nyapanyapa Yunupingu.
Among the highlights is a brand-new, site-specific wall painting by Arts Laureate John Reynolds, created live during the pre-opening of the exhibition, offering a rare glimpse into his artistic process. Inspired by, and partnering with, the Chartwell 50th Anniversary Project 2024, the exhibition and performance series reflects Chartwell's commitment to exploring the creative processes of seeing, making, and thinking - essential aspects of us all as human beings.
