Te Wāhi Toi/The Arts Place exists to connect the creative community of Queenstown and Wānaka with audiences, students, teachers, spaces and each other. We are a not-for-profit organisation powered by Three Lakes Cultural Trust and inspired by local arts and culture.
Ruby Burke is a Wanaka based portrait painter. Her love of art started at the age of ten when she was first introduced to portraiture, and has been working with pencil and paint ever since. She creates pieces for exhibit as well as private commissions, trying to capture emotion in each work. ‘I hope to illustrate the beauty and sadness of life. Both the pearls and the grit.’
